Engineering Undergraduate (Internship) Program 2026/27

ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

ASC’s Undergraduate Program:
Not quite ready for graduation yet? If you are in your penultimate year, you can still join our engineering teams through our Undergraduate Program commencing in late November 2026.

Based on-site at Osborne in SA, or onsite at Henderson in WA, the ASC Undergraduate Program will run through the university summer holiday period and will provide opportunity for you to interact with various departments, not only within our engineering sector but throughout the business. Our program will offer exposure to our diverse, multi-skilled engineering teams.

Following successful completion of the program, you will have the opportunity to continue your career in our Graduate Program.

About You
You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills along with a logical approach to problem solving. Your conceptual ability and technical analysis skills will enable you to apply the appropriate tools, systems, and methodology within a practical engineering setting. 

We are on the lookout for our next team of Engineering Undergraduates undertaking Bachelor Degrees in one of the following Engineering disciplines or equivalent:

Electrical:  

  • Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Aerospace (Electrical)

Mechanical:    

  • Mechanical, Mechatronic, Aerospace, Marine and Offshore, Manufacturing

Structural (Mechanical Stress Analysis):    

  • Aerospace, Mechanical, Aeronautical Engineering, Maritime, Civil, Naval Architecture

Materials:    

  • Materials Science (laboratory experience desirable), Chemical, Process

Software:    

  • Software, Computer Systems, Computer Science

Naval Architecture:    

  • Naval Architecture

Eligibility and Requirements
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
