Graduate Teacher Program - Generalist - Nilma Primary School

Location Profile  

Nilma Primary is a small rural school situated 4 km east of Warragul. The school was originally established in 1885. Our current enrolment for 2024 is 75 students. The fabulous staff teaching team for 2024 comprises of a Principal, 4 Home Group Teachers , Wellbeing Support Person, Disability Inclusion Specialist, Specialists Teachers (sport, art and Marc Van) 7 ES Staff and a Business Manager.

At Nilma Primary School we provide a positive, stimulating and harmonious learning environment in a rural setting.
Students have rich learning opportunities that extend their capacity to learn independently and interdependently. A flexible approach to teaching and learning, including the use of multi-ageing, ensures that learning experiences with clear learning goals and rich interactive environment, facilitating learning within and beyond the school.

Program Benefits 

This position attracts an incentive payment of $5,650 (pre-tax) for the successful candidate who meets the eligibility criteria set out under conditions of employment.

Conditions of Employment 

All staff employed by the Department and schools have access to a broad range of employment conditions and working arrangements. 

The appointment of successful applicants will be made subject to satisfactory pre-employment conditions check. 

A probationary period may apply during the first year of employment and induction and support programs provided. 

Eligibility for incentive payments: 

  • The successful candidate is committing to a minimum of 1 year employment at this school. 
  • The successful candidate will not be a Graduate Teacher Incentive recipient from a previous vacancy. 
  • The successful candidate must not be employed as a teacher by the Department at the time the advertised position is to commence.
