Location Profile

Kialla West Primary School is located seven kilometres South of Shepparton, a major regional centre situated approximately two hours North of Melbourne. The school draws its enrolments from the rapidly expanding Kialla district as well as from the surrounding farming communities. Enrolments have steadily increased over the past fifteen years, with the school currently accommodating 221 students. The school is underpinned by the core values of Pride, Excellence, and Resilience, which are embedded within the culture of the school and actively promoted across the wider community. Kialla West Primary School maintains a strong academic focus, with teachers committed to creating engaging and supportive learning environments. Individual learning goals are utilised to monitor progress and ensure that all students are appropriately challenged in their learning. The school community is highly supportive, and the school in turn places great value on its partnership with the local community.

A comprehensive academic curriculum is delivered through a clearly articulated whole-school instructional model. In Literacy, assessment responsive phonics instruction is complemented by a strong emphasis on reading comprehension.
