Road Safety Victoria within the Department of Transport and Planning, leads the efforts of all road safety partners to deliver a collective response across government, our industry partners, and the Victorian community to create a safe road environment that supports all road users regardless of mode to make safe choices aimed to reduced road trauma as we work towards the vision of zero deaths on Victorian roads by 2050.

About the Role
*This is a Fixed Term 3 Months Position*
The Road Safety intern positions will be based in the School Crossing Risk Assessment Framework (SCRAF) project team within the Road Safety Policy, Education and Partnerships (PEP) branch of Road Safety Victoria. The interns will be provided opportunities to undertake project support activities to implement the SCRAF, a new methodology for assessing road safety risks at school crossings, and to pilot new infrastructure treatments. Interns will be provided with training on the SCRAF methodology and tools, including onsite training to observe how the SCRAF works and practise how to use it in a real live environment.

To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate will be a strong communicator who organizes information logically and tailors their messaging to engage diverse audiences effectively. They will have a keen analytical mindset, using critical thinking to assess challenges and develop logical solutions. A strong grasp of data literacy is essential, allowing them to present information clearly and identify anomalies. Their ability to problem-solve and communicate with impact will drive successful project support outcomes.
