Our Tax Services practice combines many varied service lines that work with our clients in many ways. In particular, Indirect Tax looks at tricky issues for businesses, providing tax advice and lodgement for issues that businesses are not dealing with on a day to day basis, but are still essential. This role will allow you to build both your technical knowledge in a unique area and hone your problem solving skills. 

This role is available for immediate start. Students that have completed an undergraduate degree are preferred, but the business is open to exploring part-time opportunities for undergraduates with a view towards a graduate role. 

About the role:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Providing advice on a range of indirect tax issues (GST, Stamp duty, Fuel Tax Credits and Land Tax)
• Drafting ruling requests and submissions and assisting clients with lodgement obligations with revenue offices
• Ability to work independently in a client facing role, working as the dedicated point of contact
• Working collaboratively with other divisions in RSM on joint engagements
• Building and maintaining a strong technical knowledge in Indirect tax
• Communicate with the ATO, including resolving administrative issues and handling general ATO queries

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Essential

• Business / Commerce / Finance degree with Accounting Major

Desirable

• Business / Commerce / Finance / Law double degree with Accounting Major
