The role | Te tūnga   

As a National Data Collection Specialist (Fixed Term Annuals Team), you will work within our frontline teams, building relationships with the business of Aotearoa, and enabling data collection from our business survey respondents through national collection channels (phone and email). The role involves engaging survey respondents through outbound and inbound calling and responding to emails to collect data for national business surveys. This role is about providing a great user experience for respondents - one that builds trust, is seamless, convenient, safe and recognises their contribution to Aotearoa.   

We have a number of fixed-term roles available. You will be based in the Auckland region to help facilitate training and ongoing support; however, these are remote work from home roles, so a private workspace and reliable internet are essential.

We are recruiting for two teams:

Team one, focusing on collecting for our Agricultural Production Survey:

  • Start date: 13/7/2026
  • End Date: 13/11/2026
  • Usual hours of work:
    • Sunday 10am – 6pm
    • Monday to Thursday 12.30 pm- 8.30pm

Team two, focusing on collecting for our Annual Enterprise Survey and Research and Development Survey:

  • Start date: 17/08/2026
  • End Date: 24/12/2026
  • Usual hours of work:
    • Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm

This role would suit someone who can bring: 

  • Experience (2+ years) working in Telephone based customer service role or similar. 
  • Demonstration of their strong customer focus, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. 
  • Digital/technical literacy skills, including capability to pick up new systems quickly. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including being resilient and the ability to vary your approach to suit different audiences. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other teams, is self-motivated, and willingness to develop new skills   
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends. 
  • Be a self starter and be able to work remotely, including having strong, reliable internet and a private workspace.
