QBE Graduate Programme
#9 Top Graduate Employer for medium programs in AustraliaOur award-winning graduate program has been running in Austraia for many years with huge success, consistently being voted in the Top 10 of Australia’s Top Graduate Employer by the Australian Association of Graduate Employers. In addition to the technical learning in your role, graduates progress through a centralised structured learning and development plan, have access to senior leaders, and spend time with their graduate cohort forming meaningful and long-lasting connections. 2024 was a big year for us as we launched our inaugural New Zealand graduate program stream as an extension of our successful Australian program. In 2026, we want to continue to build our New Zealand program and help you grow your career from day one. | ![]() |
GRADUATE PROGRAM OVERVIEW
18-months | 3 different teams | permanent role
Our New Zealand graduate program stream focuses on insurance underwriting, a technical process of assessing business risk and consulting with stakeholders to arrive at an appropriate insurance offering. You’ll learn about all kinds of businesses across many industries and best practice risk management.
The goal of the New Zealand graduate program stream is to become an insurance underwriter. We’ll teach you the basics of insurance first before progressing you through your graduate rotations, ensuring you’re set up for success.
The graduate program is flexible and we encourage our graduates to explore their interests through graduate rotations and networking opportunities.
GRADUATE LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
Your skill and career development are a key focus for the entire graduate program and beyond. Some of the ways you will learn include:
- An immersive first week in Sydney, Australia, building connections with your graduate cohort and working on your transition from university to corporate life.
- Experiencing our business from three different perspectives across your graduate rotations.
- Formal classroom style training, always with a practical application.
- Informal learning through cohort activities and initiatives.
- Digital learning pathways designed for the graduate cohort and your program stream more specifically.
- Unlimited access to digital learning content, many courses with official certifications.
- 6-8 months into your program, spend a full week dedicated to your development in Sydney, Australia where you’ll take part in graduate workshops furthering your skills and deepening your connections with you fellow graduates.

- Networking and public speaking opportunities.
